Scholarship Terms

These Terms are between the company named in your offer (“CHE”) and the student named below (“the Student”). They set out the conditions attached to a scholarship awarded by CHE and the responsibilities of both CHE and the Student. They apply together with the Student Agreement, the Application Form and the Confirmation Email.

1 · The scholarship

1.1 CHE has awarded the Student a scholarship towards the tuition fees for their programme of study. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of CHE in recognition of academic merit, potential or other qualifying criteria, and are considered on an individual basis. The specific value and terms of the scholarship are confirmed separately in writing in the Scholarship Award Letter.

1.2 Scholarship arrangements are private and confidential between CHE and the Student.

2 · Conditions of the scholarship

2.1 The scholarship is awarded on the basis that the Student intends to remain enrolled with CHE and complete the period of study for which the scholarship has been awarded.

2.2 In accepting the scholarship, the Student agrees to:

  • engage fully and appropriately with their programme;
  • attend required tutorials, clinics and other compulsory teaching activities;
  • complete all required modules, assessments and academic work;
  • meet the academic, clinical and professional requirements of their programme; and
  • comply with the Trainee Handbook, the Code of Conduct in Schedule 1 and applicable CHE policies.

2.3 Progression and graduation remain subject to the Student successfully completing all applicable academic, clinical and professional requirements.

3 · Continued eligibility and renewal

3.1 Where a scholarship is awarded for more than one year of study, continuation of the scholarship into each subsequent year is subject to the Student maintaining the academic standard, conduct and engagement on which the scholarship was awarded. Any specific renewal criteria (for example a minimum grade average or satisfactory progress requirement) will be recorded in the Scholarship Award Letter.

3.2 If CHE considers that a Student may not meet the renewal criteria, CHE will notify the Student in writing and, where appropriate, will allow a reasonable opportunity to discuss the matter or remedy any shortfall before a decision is made not to continue the scholarship.

3.3 Where no renewal criteria are recorded in the Scholarship Award Letter, the scholarship applies for the full period of study stated in that letter.

4 · Withdrawal and forfeiture

4.1 The scholarship is awarded on the express condition that the Student remains enrolled and completes the period of study for which the scholarship has been awarded.

4.2 If the Student voluntarily withdraws, transfers to another educational provider, ceases to engage with the programme, or has their enrolment terminated as a result of a serious or repeated breach of CHE policies or the Code of Conduct, the scholarship will cease with immediate effect and no further instalments will be paid.

4.3 In line with standard practice for educational scholarships, CHE does not require repayment of scholarship funds already paid where a Student withdraws or does not complete their studies. The exception is where the scholarship was obtained as a result of fraud, material misrepresentation, or a knowingly false statement made by the Student in their application or supporting materials. In that case, CHE reserves the right to require repayment of the value of the scholarship received, and will confirm the amount due and any repayment arrangements in writing.

4.4 CHE may, at its discretion, waive or reduce any amount repayable where there are exceptional circumstances. Any such decision will be considered individually and confirmed in writing.

4.5 By accepting the scholarship, the Student acknowledges and accepts these conditions.

5 · Student responsibilities

5.1 Throughout their enrolment, the Student is expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully towards fellow students, patients, lecturers, supervisors and CHE staff.

5.2 The Student must maintain patient confidentiality and comply with CHE’s clinical, academic and professional standards.

5.3 CHE course materials, including videos, recordings, presentations, notes and digital resources, remain the intellectual property of CHE Health & Wellbeing Limited or the relevant copyright holder. They must not be copied, shared, distributed, recorded or made available to others without permission.

5.4 The Student must not share their personal login details or provide another person with unauthorised access to CHE learning platforms or course materials.

6 · CHE responsibilities

6.1 CHE will use reasonable endeavours to:

  • deliver the programme in accordance with its published structure and educational objectives;
  • provide appropriate academic and administrative support;
  • provide access to the learning resources associated with the programme; and
  • communicate significant changes affecting the Student’s programme.

6.2 CHE may make reasonable changes to teaching dates, tutors, lecturers, course content, sequencing or delivery methods where necessary for academic or operational reasons or because of circumstances outside CHE’s reasonable control.

7 · Publicity and acknowledgement

7.1 CHE may wish to publicly acknowledge its scholarship recipients, for example in newsletters, marketing materials, on its website or social media, or at events, as part of promoting the scholarship programme.

7.2 CHE will seek the Student’s separate written consent before using their name, image or personal story for any publicity or promotional purpose. The Student may decline or withdraw this consent at any time, and doing so will not affect their scholarship or standing at CHE.

8 · Data protection

8.1 CHE will process the Student’s personal data in connection with these Terms and the administration of the scholarship in accordance with the Privacy and Cookie Policy and applicable data protection law.

9 · CHE policies

9.1 These Terms should be read alongside the current Trainee Handbook, the Code of Conduct, the Assessment and Academic Appeals Policy, the Complaints Policy and other policies applicable to the Student’s programme.

9.2 The Student agrees to comply with these requirements throughout their enrolment.

10 · Declaration

10.1 Where a scholarship meets the full cost of a programme, the Student does not complete the standard online booking and payment process through which other students accept the Student Agreement by ticking a box. Signing below is the equivalent way for the Student to accept it.

10.2 By signing below, the Student confirms that they:

  • have read and understood the Student Agreement in full, including the sections on fees, payment and refunds, their obligations to CHE, intellectual property, confidentiality and limitation of liability;
  • agree to be bound by the Student Agreement, together with their Application Form, Confirmation Email and these Terms, which together form the contract between them and CHE;
  • understand that where the Student Agreement refers to fees, payment or refunds, this applies to them only to the extent set out in their Scholarship Award Letter and these Terms, and that any fees remaining payable after the scholarship continue to be governed in full by the Student Agreement;
  • have read and understood these Terms;
  • understand and accept the conditions attached to their scholarship;
  • understand the limited circumstances in which the scholarship may cease or become repayable; and
  • agree to comply with CHE’s academic, clinical and professional requirements and applicable policies.
