1. The bursary

  • 1.1 CHE has awarded the Student a bursary towards the tuition fees for their programme of study. Bursaries are awarded at the discretion of CHE and are considered on an individual basis. The specific value and terms of the bursary are confirmed separately in writing in the Bursary Award Schedule.
  • 1.2 Bursary arrangements are private and confidential between CHE and the Student.

2. Conditions of the bursary

2.1 The bursary is awarded on the basis that the Student intends to remain enrolled with CHE and complete the period of study for which the bursary has been awarded.

2.2 In accepting the bursary, the Student agrees to:

  • engage fully and appropriately with their programme;
  • attend required tutorials, clinics and other compulsory teaching activities;
  • complete all required modules, assessments and academic work;
  • meet the academic, clinical and professional requirements of their programme; and
  • comply with the Trainee Handbook, the Code of Conduct in Schedule 1 and applicable CHE policies.

2.3 Progression and graduation remain subject to the Student successfully completing all applicable academic, clinical and professional requirements.

3. Withdrawal and repayment

3.1 The bursary is awarded on the express condition that the Student remains enrolled and completes the period of study for which the bursary has been awarded.

3.2 If the Student voluntarily withdraws, transfers to another educational provider, ceases to engage with the programme, or has their enrolment terminated as a result of a serious or repeated breach of CHE policies or the Code of Conduct, the bursary will cease to apply and the Student will be required to repay the value of the bursary received for that period of study.

3.3 CHE will confirm the amount due and repayment arrangements in writing.

3.4 CHE may, at its discretion, waive or reduce the amount repayable where there are exceptional circumstances. Any such decision will be considered individually and confirmed in writing.

3.5 By accepting the bursary, the Student acknowledges and accepts these repayment conditions.

4. Student responsibilities

4.1 Throughout their enrolment, the Student is expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully towards fellow students, patients, lecturers, supervisors and CHE staff.

4.2 The Student must maintain patient confidentiality and comply with CHE’s clinical, academic and professional standards.

4.3 CHE course materials, including videos, recordings, presentations, notes and digital resources, remain the intellectual property of CHE Health & Wellbeing Limited or the relevant copyright holder. They must not be copied, shared, distributed, recorded or made available to others without permission.

4.4 The Student must not share their personal login details or provide another person with unauthorised access to CHE learning platforms or course materials.

5. CHE responsibilities

5.1 CHE will use reasonable endeavours to:

  • deliver the programme in accordance with its published structure and educational objectives;
  • provide appropriate academic and administrative support;
  • provide access to the learning resources associated with the programme; and
  • communicate significant changes affecting the Student’s programme.

5.2 CHE may make reasonable changes to teaching dates, tutors, lecturers, course content, sequencing or delivery methods where necessary for academic or operational reasons or because of circumstances outside CHE’s reasonable control.

6. CHE policies

6.1 These Terms should be read alongside the current Trainee Handbook, the Code of Conduct, the Assessment and Academic Appeals Policy, the Complaints Policy and other policies applicable to the Student’s programme.

6.2 The Student agrees to comply with these requirements throughout their enrolment.

7. Declaration

7.1 Where a bursary meets the full cost of a programme, the Student does not complete the standard online booking and payment process through which other students accept the Student Agreement by ticking a box. Signing below is the equivalent way for the Student to accept it.

7.2 By signing below, the Student confirms that they:

  • have read and understood the Student Agreement in full, including the sections on fees, payment and refunds, their obligations to CHE, intellectual property, confidentiality and limitation of liability;
  • agree to be bound by the Student Agreement, together with their Application Form, Confirmation Email and these Terms, which together form the contract between them and CHE;
  • understand that where the Student Agreement refers to fees, payment or refunds, this applies to them only to the extent set out in their Bursary Award Schedule and these Terms, and that any fees remaining payable after the bursary continue to be governed in full by the Student Agreement;
  • understand that, unlike a scholarship, the bursary was awarded on the basis of information they provided about their financial circumstances, that this information must be true, complete and accurate, and that they must notify CHE promptly if their financial circumstances materially change during their studies;
  • understand and accept the conditions attached to their bursary;
  • understand that if they withdraw from their studies, transfer to another educational provider, or have their enrolment terminated in the circumstances set out in these Terms, they may be required to repay some or all of the value of the bursary received;
  • understand that the bursary is reviewed by CHE on an annual basis and is not automatically renewed or guaranteed for subsequent years of study;
  • confirm that the information in their Application Form is accurate; and
  • agree to comply with CHE’s academic, clinical and professional requirements and applicable policies, and understand that their continued participation in the programme remains subject to the Student Agreement and these Terms.

E2 For students, we follow the disciplinary procedure in the Student Agreement.

E3 To report a concern, email [email protected]. For a safeguarding concern, email [email protected]. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
