Staphysagria: A Remedy for the Wounds of a Toxic World
Summer is a time of sun-soaked adventures, sandy beaches, long car journeys, and plenty of opportunities for fun — but also for sunburn, stings, upset stomachs, and motion sickness. Whether you’re off on a family holiday, heading to a festival, or just enjoying time outdoors, a few well-chosen homeopathic remedies can make a huge difference.

Here’s your go-to guide for common summer ailments — and the remedies that can help.
Long hours in the sun can bring on pounding headaches and heat exhaustion. These remedies can help ease symptoms quickly:
Belladonna
Glonoine
Natrum Muriaticum
Belladonna – For dry, hot, red skin and throbbing sunburn pain.
Cantharis – For blistering burns with intense burning and stinging pain.
Urtica Urens – For burning, stinging, itchy sunburn with red blotches.
Calendula Cream – A healing must-have. Use diluted tincture or gel to soothe and support skin repair.
Sol – Helps prevent sensitivity to the sun and supports recovery from sunstroke or headaches caused by sun exposure.
Whether by car, plane, or boat — motion sickness can ruin a journey. These remedies ease nausea, dizziness, and fatigue:
Cocculus – Nausea from reading or watching movement; dizziness, weakness, worse from lack of sleep.
Tabacum – Pale, green, cold sweats with violent nausea. Better in cool air.
Petroleum – For queasiness from rocking motions; feels worse from petrol fumes; better lying still with eyes closed.
Jet Lag Remedies
Arnica – Use before and after flights to ease the physical strain of travel.
Cocculus – Excellent for jet lag with exhaustion and disturbed sleep. Helps reset the body clock.
Holiday food is great — until it isn’t. Keep these remedies on hand:
Arsenicum Album – For food poisoning with vomiting, diarrhea, anxiety, and chilliness.
Nux Vomica – After overindulgence in food, alcohol, or rich meals; irritable and sluggish digestion.
Lycopodium – Constipation with bloating and gas, especially when away from home or routine.
Outdoor fun often means unwanted bug bites. These remedies help soothe itching, swelling, and pain:
Apis – Sudden swelling, redness, and stinging pain; better with cold.
Urtica Urens – Intense itching, nettle rash, allergic reactions.
Ledum – Cold, puffy bites or puncture wounds; better for cold.
Hypericum – Sharp, shooting nerve pain after stings or animal bites.

For panic, shock, fear, or overwhelm (especially in children), Rescue Remedy is a beautiful support. A blend of five Bach flower essences, it helps restore calm in moments of stress.
With the right tools and a little know-how, you can turn your summer holiday into a time of relaxation and healing — not stress and scrambling.
