Natural Approaches to Men’s Health: A Homeopathic Perspective
Men’s health issues, particularly those affecting the reproductive system, shouldn’t
Fever is a symptom of many diseases and conditions, so it’s essential to be familiar with all the things that can cause a fever. This way, you can treat the underlying condition and get rid of the fever quickly.
There are three main types of fever: low-grade, moderate, and high. A low-grade fever is usually nothing to worry about. It can be treated at home and results from your body burning out an infection such as the flu or a cold.
As soon as a fever starts, people immediately try to reduce the fever by lowering the body temperature and taking over-the-counter medications. But the truth is that the fever is your body’s natural healing system at work, it is literally burning up all of the nasty little bugs, viruses and foreign invaders that should not be in your system, and you need to help your body in its work.
It is a fine balance to achieve, though, and you don’t want the fever to run out of control. So, you can do a few things to support your body in its work and make yourself more comfortable.
Simply soak a clean cloth in warm water, wring it out, and apply it to your forehead for instant relief. Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to the cloth for an extra cooling effect before applying. My mum always swore by adding vinegar to the water for that added cooling effect, and it will work just as well if you don’t have any lavender oil to hand. The lavender oil will smell better, though.
Consider taking an Epsom salt bath. Add two cups of Epsom salt to a tub of warm water and soak for 20 minutes. The magnesium in the Epsom salt will help reduce inflammation and ease muscle pain, while the warm water will help “sweat it out” and lower your body temperature.
Most importantly, make sure you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids. Fever can cause dehydration, so drinking lots of water, herbal tea, or juice throughout the day is essential. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as they can contribute to dehydration.
But there’s one more very important addition. Let’s supercharge the healing process by adding some homeopathic remedies. They are brilliant for helping a fever.
