The Art of Managing Patient Relationships
Building a successful homeopathy practice isn’t just about remedies—it’s about
Colic is a condition that affects many babies and is defined as excessive and prolonged crying in a baby who is otherwise healthy.
Colic can be caused by a number of things, such as wind, constipation, or reflux. Symptoms can include excessive crying, clenched fists, drawing up the legs, and passing wind.
It is never nice to see your baby crying in pain and discomfort and it can leave you feeling helpless. There are a few things you can do to help:
– Try to determine what is causing the colic. Is your baby windy? Do they have constipation? Are they refluxing?
– If you can identify the cause, try to remedy it. For example, if your baby is refluxing, elevate their head during feeds.
– Make sure your baby is getting enough milk. A hungry baby will cry more.
– Burp your baby frequently during feedings.
– Get plenty of rest yourself. You need to be well rested to cope with a colicky baby.
Then, as always there are some great remedies for both mother and baby.
